Getting started

How do I join a club?

Ask your club's super-admin for an invite link. Open the link on your phone and the app will either open (if installed) or take you to the store to download it. When you sign up, your club membership is applied automatically.

I'm starting a new club — what do I do?

Download the app, create an account, then tap "Create club" from your profile. You'll set the club name, default sport, and accent colour. Once the club exists you can invite members by email or share a join link. Your first league can be created from the home screen.

Can I be in more than one club?

Yes. Each club is independent — you can play in leagues at your home club, your university club, and a travel-squad club all from the same account. The home screen groups everything by club.

Pricing & subscriptions

What does Racket Leagues cost?

Players use the app for free, forever. Clubs pay £20 per month per club for unlimited members, leagues and admin features. The optional sponsor-display feature is a one-off £5 in-app purchase per club.

How do I subscribe my club, or cancel?

Open the app, sign in as the club's super-admin, and tap "Manage subscription" from the club settings screen. The subscription is billed through Apple's App Store or Google Play. You can cancel any time from your phone's subscription settings — your club keeps full access until the end of the billing period.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds for the club subscription and the £5 sponsor unlock are handled by Apple and Google directly under their store policies. If you have a billing issue, request a refund through the relevant store first; if there's anything we can do at our end, drop us an email below and we'll help.

Playing leagues

How do I record a match result?

From the league detail screen tap "Record result", pick your opponent, enter the score, and submit. Your opponent gets a notification to confirm — once they confirm, the result counts towards standings. If there's a disagreement, the club admin can override.

How does promotion and relegation work?

At the end of each round, Racket Leagues works out who moves up and who moves down based on each box's standings. The club's super-admin decides how many players promote and relegate per box when setting up the league. The app handles the shuffling automatically when the round is closed.

What about doubles?

Doubles leagues are supported. Each match is recorded against a pair rather than an individual. Partner changes mid-season need consent from everyone affected, which the app handles through a confirmation flow.

Profile and privacy

Can I change my display name or alias?

Yes — tap your avatar on the home screen to open your profile, then tap "Edit". If your club has aliases enabled (the super-admin controls this per club), you can set an alias for that specific club. Display name changes are instant.

How do I delete my account?

From your profile tap "Account" then "Delete account". Your personal data is removed within 30 days. Historical match results are kept as part of your club's league archive but are anonymised so you can't be identified from them.

Who can see my profile?

Other members of clubs you've joined can see your display name, profile picture, and match history. Outside those clubs, nothing about you is visible. See the Privacy Policy for full details.

Troubleshooting

The app says I've been logged out — what happened?

Sessions normally refresh silently in the background. If you've been signed out, sign in again with your email and password. If that doesn't work, use the "Forgot password" link to reset.

I can't upload a profile picture

Check the app has permission to access your photos (iOS: Settings → Privacy → Photos → Racket Leagues; Android: Settings → Apps → Racket Leagues → Permissions). Very large photos are rejected — the app crops to a square and re-compresses before upload, but extremely high-resolution images may still fail.

My opponent records a wrong score

Don't confirm the wrong score. Decline the confirmation and message your opponent to re-submit. If there's a genuine dispute, contact your club's super-admin — they can override any result.

Android sideload install keeps getting blocked by Play Protect

If your club is using the sideloaded APK build (not the Play Store version), Play Protect may warn on first install. Tap "Install anyway" / "More details" to proceed. Updates handoff through your browser so Play Protect doesn't flag them repeatedly.
